Caribbean foreign affairs ministers will meet in Haiti

27 January - Caribbean foreign affairs ministers will meet in Haiti Wednesday through Friday for a summit on tourism, natural disasters and climate change, Haitian officials said Tuesday.

Delegations from all member countries of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and a dozen of international organizations -- including the Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) -- are expected to attend, Azad Belfort told AFP.

The director of international organizations at the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that sustainable development of the Caribbean Sea, as well as transport and tourism in the region would also be addressed during the 14th meeting of the regional ministerial council.

Haitian Foreign Affairs Minister Alrich Nicholas said that the meeting would have a positive impact on improving Haiti's image in the world. (AFP)
