because our politicians have been grossly dishonest, we mistakenly assume that the problem is with politicians per se. no, we are confusing the particular for the category here.
we need politicians, because political positions require people with political skills. the problem is dishonesty, not being a politician. in fact, non-politicians are even potentially more dangerous than bad politicians. because non-politicians can get your country in a devastating war by unnecessarily upsetting the wrong people.
please elect a politician, but ensure that he or she is honest as far as politicians go.*
