what manigat, ceant and martelly need to say ?????
Mrs Manigat cannot remain silent as the crisis worsens. she has to speak to the nation in a reassuring way; and if I were one of her political advisers, I would advise her to make the following short speech:
my fellow Haitians, brothers and sisters. we as a nation have the eye of the entire world on us since the most dreadful day in our history eleven months ago ; and as a proud nation with a great history, we have a responsibility to maintain our dignity and sanity even in the face of adversity, hunger and disease; we cannot destroy any more; for far too many of our riches were destroyed on the 12th of January; we can no longer kill our brothers and sisters; for far too many of us perished under the indifferent weight of crushing concretes on that unforgettable afternoon ; we can no longer continue to remain divided; for far too long, we have been tearing each other apart; we can no longer ignore our youth; for far too long, they have been left on their own, without proper direction, manipulated, lied to, abused and used for others' selfish gains.
my fellow patriots, I want you to know that I have heard you, listened to you, and seen you; as a mother, I can imagine how heart-wrenching it is to watch your kids go to bed with an empty stomach; as a teacher, I know how frustrating and sad it is to see our curious and brilliant young minds go wasted; as a constitutionalist, I know that your anger is legitimate when you see your rights SO BLATANTLY trampled upon; and as a proud Haitian, I know how painful it is to watch our beloved country, our Perle-Des-Antilles, become a caricature of its true self, a joke for outsiders to laugh at.
BUT today, from now on, with your help, we will work to change that, change the way we see ourselves, change the way, we treat our neighbors, change the way we serve our country, change the way we raise our children, and finally change the way we do our politics. thank you, god bless you, and god bless Haiti- a liberty refuge built with the bones and blood of our ancestors out of the first and only successful slave revolution in the history of the world.
As for Mr Ceant, he needs to understand that his charisma is a gift, and that his amazing ability TO communicate very clearly his thoughts can be used today to improve things; as such he has a responsibility to do just that; rather than duplicating the constant demands for the eventual annulment of the recent elections, Mr Ceant should emphasize the civic duty of very Haitian to behave in this crisis in a legal, ethical and civilized manner.
He needs to manage this crisis very well because he is a young man and that his political future is bright; but if he fails to manage this crisis well, whether it is his fault or not, he will be partially blamed for the explosive outcome.
As for Mr Martelly, he does have legitimate political support; therefore, whether he is allowed or not allowed to participate in the run-off, the next government will have to CONSIDER his ideas, and include his views in the political game. now, while it was okay prior to the vote to ridicule Mr Martelly, this can no longer be done legitimately because even in a rigged election, he has earned more than 20%. That, folks cannot be taken lightly in a democracy. so when someone represents the aspirations of so many young people, whether you personally feel that these young people are misguided or not, his person has to be respected by virtue of having legitimate political support; for such a support was not accomplished via transactional means.

We need to give Martelly credits for his courage and resilience.

Remember i told you that Michel Martelly has a pair of Aces in his hand.He could be the one who elects the next president of haiti if everything is done legally in January.Remember I said if Mrs Manigat were such an expert in political science she better starts sending flowers to Mrs. Martelly.
