Haitian delegation to arrive in Dominican Republic to probe into murder

Santo Domingo.- A delegation of Haitian parliamentarians are setting out for the Dominican Republic for a nine day trip, aimed at shedding light on the murder investigation of Rooldine Lindor.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Altes Toussaint, announced the intentions of the team to inquire from August 4th to the 13th on the progress of the investigation.

The investigation of murdered Haitian student, Rooldine Lindor, whose body was found on July 12 in Santo Domingo has so far held two men as suspects.

Parliamentarians said that working sessions were held with individuals from concerned ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad, to prepare the trip.

Toussaint, the member of parliament representing Saint-Marc, said the delegation will be composed of seven members, two journalists and relatives of the victim, including the Ambassador of Haiti in Dominican Republic, members of several communities of Haitians and judiciary and parliamentarian Dominicans.
