Re: From The State Department's Warning On Travelling Overseas
It is indeed the tragedy of this poor country. But this tragedy is not the monopoly of haitians.I remeber listening to ex Prime Minister of jamaica ,the honorable Michael Manley on the television program "Like it is " in New York where he said in regard to international help."Considering the numbers of Doctors, engineers, nurses, lawyers ,bankers etc who are working in the developping countries and who received their education freely from the poor countries' universities; one wonders who is helping whom."
But how are we going to stop the engineers , the nurses ,the doctors, the technicians to leave their countries where they get paid only a salary that does not even allow them to live a decent life and to educate their chilrdren because the politicians are stealing the funds of the national tresasury, not every body is Paul Farmer or docteur Gousse.Whereas as soon as they arrive in the United States ,in Canada or in some european countries they can make 10000 times more than what they were making back home?Yes some priviledged few whose families are among the elites can return to work in their family business. But what about the daughter or the son of Mrs So yet who after a lots of sacrifices from his/her family obtained his/her M.D. or his/her J.D. and who is the only hope for not only his/her own family, but also for his/her parents ,brothers and sisters ;can he/she return?
