Santo Domingo.- Barrick Pueblo Viejo Corp. on Tuesday won the Dominican Exporters Association´s (ADOEXPO) Dominican Export Excellence award, which recognizes companies that by having adapted to globalization, have spurred exports with higheer added value, innovation and technologic advances.

Barrick Pueblo Viejo president Manuel Rocha received the award in the category Grand Dominican Exporter and thanked ADOEXPO, noting that the prize bolsters the company´s commitment to the country's economic growth through exports and especially sustainability.

“With this award we reaffirm our interest in contributing to the Dominican Republic´s economic and social growth through a sustainable operation with high safety standards, which respects the environment and maintains a constant dialogue with the neighboring communities," Rocha said.

For ADOEXPO president Sadhala Khoury, the annual event is important as an instrument to spur economic growth, by recognizing companies that have managed to conquer international markets, with effort, dedication and talent.

Awards

Around 22 companies were nominated in the various categories including the Grand Dominican Exporter, Export Excellence, Industrial Excellence, Agro Industrial Exports, Agricultural Exports and Free Zones.
