Rappel du premier message :

I have always liked president Chavez, and appreciated his courage; but lately, i am begining to think that he may be potentially dangerous; and his courage may be what i would consider to be miscalculated foolishness.
and this is why?
first, he is begining to display a potentially dangerous persona, that of the global messiah, the man with the Goliath complex; and man like that have great ideas, but tend to start as revolutionaries but to end up as "pol pots".
second, he seems to have no control over his emotions.
combining these two things, we have a potenial recipe for a tyrant.
he in no way a tyrant, but he is too certain of his own convictions.
what creates disasters in the world are not doubters, but men and women that are too sure of their own convictions.
in other words, if i were to get into a coma, and wake up 15 years later just to be told of a very bad chavez, i would not be surprised.
he seems to have no reservations, and no respect for certain protocols.
one does not go to someone'else home for the purpose of personal insult.
i am not saying this because of what some pro-business-propagandists are saying in washington, it is because men that cannot control their personal behavior in accordance with basic diplomatic protocol may be too volatile and careless to lead a serious socio-economic revolution.

please, do not react too violently toward my concerns, they are legitimate concerns!!!!!

I agree with you that President Bush has not acted alone in invading Iraq.Congress including Senator Hilary Clinton approuved the war.But you have to understand that Congress was misled by the administration which, according to an intelligence report, knew there was no arm of mass destruction in Iraq.If there were no arm of mass destruction in Iraq that was a threat to the United States and Israel; there was no connection betwwen Sadham Hussein and the 9/11/ madmen, again according to the CIA; on what basis then so many innocent people lost their lives in Iraq?I think it is in this context that President Chavez used that analogy of the conduct of the Devil.

Chavez is not an imbecile ;he knows that Georges Bush is not the devil. He was retaliated for the terms used by this administration to describe him.Given that he was not diplomatic enough, but one can understand his reaction, the same way one should understand Mr Bush's speech decribing the axe of evils after 9/11.Americans used worst term than that to describe their presidents.Fortunately, we are in a free country, not in the royalty of Louis XlV.

At any rate what is done is done.I do not condone the use of the term but in his place maybe I would say the same thing.I admire his courage.

Why Ronald Reagan had the right to call the Soviet Union :'The evil empire",Goerges Bush calls certain countries the axes of evils and Chavez does not have the same right to call President Bush what he thinks? If you live in a glass house you should not throw stones to other people's house. If you want to be respected you should not disrespect others. If you want to be loved you should love your fellow human beings. You can not kill innocent people whenever you want and expect them to love you.Should I call Sir Charles Manson ?

If Idi Amin were a bouffon ,a criminal should we use polite terms to describe him?A spade is a spade regardless of his color.maybe the Butcher of Iraq would be more appropriate;that's all folks.Give me Jimmy Carter or somebody like him for President of the United states. He is a gentleman.
