Two reasons
1- To accumulate more pledged deleguates than Mitt Romney and Secure the VP.
2- To steal the anti-McCain votes which may well go to OBAMA. In this way, try to avaoid an Obama candidacy which will be much harder to defeat in the general elections.
In conclusion, Huckabee is Helping McCain in other words his ticket.
