GOP VP candidate Palin's daughter is pregnant
17-year-old Bristol to keep the child and marry the father
updated 12:07 p.m. ET, Mon., Sept. 1, 2008
ST. PAUL - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.
Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.
"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us," the Palins' statement said.
"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the Palins said.
The Palins asked the news media to respect the young couple's privacy.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates," the statement concluded.
McCain knew
Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way
In the short period since she was announced last Friday, Palin has helped to energize the Republican Party's conservative base, giving the McCain camp fresh energy going into the campaign for the Nov. 4 election against Democrat Barack Obama.
McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.
According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.

Maintenant vous comprenez pourquoi j'ai gardé la signature "republicans for Obama" même quand j'étais tout excité par la nomination de Palin...

McCain, Obama agree: Don't use Palin's pregnant daughter as political fodder

John McCain and Barack Obama differ on a host of issues, but the competing campaigns agreed today that the pregnancy of Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter should not become political fodder.
Campaigning in Michigan, Obama said the Republican vice presidential candidate's children should be ''off limits'' and cited his own mother, who gave birth to Obama when she was 18.

''This shouldn't be part of our politics, it has no relevance to Governor Palin's performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president, and so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories,'' Obama told reporters.
McCain advisers Stephen Schmidt and Mark Salter told reporters in St. Paul today for the Republican National Convention that the campaign learned of Bristol's pregnancy when they vetted her mother.
''Many American families have experiences like this,'' Salter said. ''Unfortunately, it has to play out in the public spotlight.''
Palin, a first-term Alaska governor, and her husband revealed in a statement today that their daughter Bristol was five months pregnant and planned to keep the baby and marry the father.
"We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,'' Sarah and Todd Palin said in the brief statement.
Schmidt said the GOP presidential campaign decided to disclose the information because of repeated media inquiries about ''dirty, nasty smears'' on the Internet that Bristol may actually be the mother of Sarah Palin's youngest child, Trig, who was born in April with Down syndrome.
Palin spokesman Bill McAllister emphatically denied those rumors.
''Senator McCain's view is this is a private family matter. As parents, [the Palins] love their daughter unconditionally and are going to support their daughter,'' Schmidt said.
''Life happens,'' he said.
''An American family,'' added Salter.

kem fem mal pou kongre repiblikain yo samble soti passe lan tenten eskandal sou eskandal, cyclone, menm anti-war protest.
exuberant, sign-waving protesters filled the streets of St. Paul on Monday, as Republicans prepared for a low-key opening to their presidential nominating convention.
Chanting "war is not pro-life" and holding signs criticizing President George W. Bush, the protesters marched from the state capitol to the Xcel Center, where John McCain will accept the Republican nomination later this week.
Public safety officials put the crowd size at 8,000 to 10,000 and reported seven arrests. A Reuters reporter at the protest said it appeared to be peaceful. There was no sign of a group of self-proclaimed anarchists that had announced plans to blockade the city, seize bridges and disrupt transportation.
Republicans have scaled back convention festivities on the first day, mindful of a political backlash as Hurricane Gustav pounded the Louisiana coast.
Convention organizers planned a truncated business-only session for about two hours on Monday and scrapped a planned speech by Bush.
But Bush's absence did not deter the enthusiasm of protesters. Carrying a sign that said, "Hold Bush accountable," 52-year-old Gary Frazee from Minneapolis said he suspected that the president was using the hurricane as an excuse not to come to the convention.
"Why would he show up? There's no love for him here," he said.

So, Bristol had sex without a condom? We wonder if she had any sex education from home.

Wow,

8- A suivre
9- A suivre
10-a suivre.
Obama ne veut pas exploiter ces scandales parce qu'elle n'est pas encore officiellement nommee. Apres la convention republicaine, Manman pitit se mare ren.
