To Haiti, with love
Published on: 10/18/08.
Several Barbadian artistes, including Gabby, KDB and Praise Academy of Dance will show their love for Haiti when they join forces and voices at the Sherbourne Conference Centre tomorrow.
The fund-raising event is all for Haiti and it's free!
The concert 'To Haiti with Love' is the culmination of the relief campaign of the same name which has spear-headed the collection of supplies and funds to aid Haiti after it was ravaged by hurricanes Fay, Gustav, Hannah and Ike in August and September 2008.
Like the concert, the campaign is a joint effort between several local organisations, including Agape in Action Group, Voices for Haiti, United Caribbean Trust, the Haitian Consulate, the Cuba-Haiti Relief Fund, the Anglican Church, the University of the West Indies (UWI), the United Nations, and the Rugged Royalty Family.
The show begins at 8 p.m. and will be a night of song and dance dedicated to raising awareness of the destruction that has resulted from these storms.
While the concert is free, donations for the relief effort will be collected during the show.(AL-F)
