HAVANA, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Cuba and Haiti agreed on Wednesday to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation in various areas, local press said.
Officials made the pledge at a meeting during which the two countries' high-ranking delegations discussed the inter-government agreements on cooperation, as well as other issues of common interest.

Alex Larsen, Haitian Public Health Minister, appreciated Cuba's support to his country in health area. "The cooperation is so important," he said.

Before the meeting, Haitian Foreign Minister Alrich Nicolas said the collaboration with Cuba on electricity, education and health was wide and dynamic.

The Cuban delegation was headed by Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation, who hailed the importance of deepening the negotiations to boost the bilateral cooperation.

The Haitian side was headed by Minister of Interior Paul Antoine Bien-Aime, and also involved other ministers.
