Clinton: Still no congratulations for Obama

EL PASO, Texas (CNN) – For the second election night in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to acknowledge or congratulate Barack Obama after he won the day in dominating fashion.

On Tuesday in El Paso, hours after Virginia had been called for Obama, she stuck to her “Texas campaign kickoff” message and did not stray from an energetic, Lone Star-themed stump speech. She did mention Obama by name, only to chide his health care plan.

On Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Clinton spoke to a crowd of thousands at the state’s annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, but she ignored Obama’s quartet of blowout primary and caucus wins that day as well (Obama also won the Maine caucuses the next day).

The courtesy of conceding a primary or caucus loss — and then congratulating your opponent — is by no means required. But it has become standard practice during campaign season.

Clinton congratulated Obama and John Edwards after their first and second place finishes in the Iowa caucuses. Obama returned the favor in New Hampshire, saying Clinton “did an outstanding job.” That courtesy continued through the early states.

But as the race has shifted to a delegate chase with dozens of states in play around the country, the notion of congratulating one’s opponent seems, for Clinton, to have fallen by the wayside.

If I remember correctly she did congratulate Senator Obama for his victory on Super Tuesday.Last night she did not; perhaps she had other things on her mind.It is obvious now that Hillary's campaingn is in distress:The resignation of the campaign Manager and her assistant is an indication of the changes she needs to reverse her defeats in those 7 states.

Let us hope for a peaceful convention where the nominee of the democratic party will have the support of all democrats;whether it is Hillary or Obama.Otherwise we will have a third Bush mandate in the White House.It is regrettable that some people are trying to divide in order to conquer.Only a unified democratic party will win in November.It is time for a cease fire between the democratic party's candidates.

Mitt Romney understands the need for the Republicans to unite behind Mac Cain.;Although the nominee of the democratic party is not kown yet,we better stop demonizing Obama or Hillary right now.The tone of Governor Huckebee's speech last night showed how much the republicans understand the need for unity.We, democrats, better do the same thing.Let the people choose whom they want.

As far as I am concerned both of them (Obama and Hillary) are viable candidates.I do not blame anybody who wishes an Obama's victory,but as I mentionned in my previous piece we should not regard Hillary as our ennemy and blow out of proportion any litlle insignificant misjudgement or mistake.

Senator Clinton wins New Mexico.How many delegates did she get?How is her total number of delegates comparing to that of Senator Obama?Did Senator Obama congratulate Senator Clinton?

I just read that Representative Lewis, one of Senator Clinton'ally, is tilted towar Senator Obama in case there is a deadlock at the convention.Representative Lewis said that he could not ignore his constituency which voted for Senator Obama. He is right: the superdelegates must take into consideration the votes of the people to determine the nominee of the democratic party.

It is regrettable that now Senator Clinton wants the delegates from Florida and Michigan to be recognized at the convention .As one of the TV commentator asked this afternoon :Will she accept that they be recognized if Obama had won these two primaries without her participation in the process in these two states?

Whereas the Republican party's candidates are recognizing the necessity to show a united front ,the democrats are still fighting to elect their candidate in the general election in November.The sooner this competition ends the better it will be for all democrats.The people of Ohio, Texas and the other remaining states should vote for the candidate who has the better chance to win in November.

Taking into consideration Senator Hillary's past history with the republicans in congress during the presidency of her husband,it will be very difficult for her to rally the Republicans in congress to her program of government.This is the reason, I think, a lot of people are tilting toward Senator Obama right now.

I think we cannot its time for the democratics voters to line up with one candidate to avoid a broken convention.

It will be very difficult for Hillary to overcome the pledged deleguates that Obama has now ( Over a Hundred).

I think voter must back up Obama to avoid the worst scenario.
